NEW: sitour combined information system in the Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis ski region

Since this winter season, a new, modern combined Info & Signage System has been informing ski guests in the Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis family ski region. The customised individual modules provide information, orientation and guidance to and throughout the entire ski area, tailored to the location and needs of all winter sports enthusiasts.

The new information and guidance system is located at the Sattelbahn mountain station right on the border between the two ski areas of Serfaus and Fiss-Ladis. Together with the customer, three information modules were selected and put together in such a way that all relevant information for this location and for the various winter sports is available.

3 in 1 Info & Signage System

The main module of the system, the Panorama Info System, consists of a high-quality aluminium panorama tensioned fabric construction, flexibly movable magnetic LEDs and an LED ticker. The winter panorama map provides all ski guests with an overview of lifts, pistes, ski routes, funslopes, snow parks, restaurants, huts,...., allowing them to quickly and easily find their way around the entire ski region. The LED spots in the panoramic image also provide information on the operating status of the cable cars and lifts and the LED ticker provides up-to-date information on weather data, infrastructure, catering, events and much more. The CPS technology already available in the ski area is used for this purpose.

An essential information module for ski tourers and freeriders is the FreerideCheckpoint connected to the panorama information system. It provides information about the avalanche danger levels on the European Avalanche Danger Scale and about the freeride rules. Thanks to the connection to the CP system and the local avalanche warning services, it shows the current avalanche danger level on an LED colour display and warns of acute avalanche danger (from level 3) with the help of the avalanche warning light. Before setting off into open terrain, every freerider can also use the integrated avalanche transceiver checker to check the transmission capability of their own device.

In order to fulfil the requirements of the border location, a Ski Run Signage Module on each side of the information system provides clear and easy-to-understand guidance to the relevant pistes, connecting lifts and nearest refreshment stops in the Serfaus and Fiss-Ladis ski areas. With the help of language-independent pictograms for cable cars, lifts and restaurants as well as piste and ski route symbols including standardised colouring and numbering, the signposts ensure easy orientation and safe guidance to the two ski areas.

The various information and guidance systems from sitour can be flexibly combined as individual modules. With the help of a combined information system, the optimal information, orientation and safe guidance of all winter sports guests is guaranteed.
