Maximum Attention Through Highly Visible Warning Signs
In organized ski areas, safety is the top priority. To provide ski lift operators with the best possible support in securing hazardous areas outside of operating hours, sitour has developed a new, ÖNORM-compliant slope closure sign. Thanks to its high visibility, this efficient solution ensures that slope and ski route closures are clearly visible even in conditions of limited visibility or darkness.
At the center of the sign is a backlit “Closed” symbol, complemented by flashing lights at all four corners. In addition, various hazard symbols as well as a custom closure period can be displayed depending on the specific hazard situation. This signals to winter sports enthusiasts at a glance that a slope or ski route is currently off-limits.
Standard-compliant safety for long-term use
The new slope closure sign was developed in accordance with the requirements of the “Traffic Safety Obligation for Ski Runs” and complies with applicable ÖNORM standards. At the same time, it impresses with its robust construction: UV-resistant materials and high weather resistance ensure reliable performance even under demanding conditions in alpine regions.
This provides ski resorts with a durable safety solution that meets both legal requirements and the practical challenges of daily operations.
Flexible Control for Different Requirements
Two options are available for controlling the slope closure sign. The CPS control system allows for the simultaneous management of multiple signs, the programming of individual operating times, and the storage of operational data. Alternatively, a remote control enables direct on-site control of individual signs—ideal for locations without a network connection.
Thanks to this flexible control system, the slope closure sign can be optimally adapted to the specific operational processes at the ski resort.
Tried-and-true system signs for wayfinding and safety
For more than 60 years, sitour has been supporting cable car companies in Austria with standardized information, orientation, and safety signage. A comprehensive range of system signs makes it possible to provide guests with relevant information in a clear and understandable manner, facilitate orientation, and thereby ensure a safe visit to the ski and hiking area .
The diverse range of system signs includes standardized signage for hazardous areas, rules and prohibitions, codes of conduct, transportation guidelines, and a wealth of additional information. Depending on the application, wall-mounted signs, freestanding signs, and supplementary signs for information and wayfinding systems are available. In this way, sitour helps mountain railways implement safety standards in a visible and clearly understandable manner.
